There are a lot of improvements and new things in this version. Most of them were already mentioned in the previous post.
Highlights include:
- a campaign, which is a reimplementation of the great and long time discontinued game Dark Signs from the early 2000's
- a NAT device enabling the use of private network address spaces
- a domain name system, enabling to use domain names instead of network addresses
- a modified console component with longer command history and standard keybindigs for navigating it
- HaxOS optimization fixing some serious networking issues
- ability to configure several subnets for a single network interface of a router
- subnet configuration using CIDR notation
- a more flexible launcher enabling simplified startup (from the main directory)
- various minor bugfixes that I came across and tweaks that crossed my mind
After the install, please read the README file for instructions.
Note that there are no changes in the tutorials (other than a minor change in navigation), so if you went through them on the previous version, there is no need to do it in this version again.
As before, feedback is highly appreciated. Please use the discussion group for this.
Note: there is a known issue that I didn't manage to sort out in time, and I did not want to postpone the release any further. If you are NOT using Windows, you cannot install Hax on your drive into a directory path that contains spaces. On Windows, paths with spaces are supported. If anyone has good Linux shell scripting knowledge and would like to help, please check the <Hax install directory>/bin/hax.sh file and try to fix it so that directories with spaces are supported. I spent the last hour trying different variants of quoting but did not succeed. Please let me know if you do. Thank you very much.
